Shloka 22

च्यवन उवाच न चेत्‌ करिष्यसि वचो मयोक्तं बलसूदन । मया प्रमथित: सद्यः सोमं पास्यसि वै मखे,च्यवनने कहा--बलसूदन! यदि तुम सीधी तरह मेरी कही हुई बात नहीं मानोगे तो यञ्ञमें मेरे द्वारा तुम्हारा अभिमान चूर्ण कर दिया जायगा, फिर तो तत्काल ही तुम सोमरस पीने लगोगे

cyavana uvāca | na cet kariṣyasi vaco mayoktaṃ balasūdana | mayā pramathitaḥ sadyaḥ somaṃ pāsyasi vai makhe ||

చ్యవనుడు అన్నాడు—ఓ బలసూదనా! నీవు నేను చెప్పిన మాటను చేయకపోతే, నేను నీ గర్వాన్ని చూర్ణం చేసి, ఈ యజ్ఞంలోనే నిన్ను తక్షణమే సోమపానం చేయింపజేస్తాను.
