श्रूयतां तस्य दानस्य यादृशो गुणविस्तर: । कृतं तेन महच्छाद्धं वर्षाणीह त्रयोदश

Transliteration

śrūyatāṁ tasya dānasya yādṛśo guṇavistaraḥ | kṛtaṁ tena mahācchāddhaṁ varṣāṇīha trayodaśa ||

Translation

విశ్వామిత్రుడు అన్నాడు—ఆ దానానికి చెందిన గుణవిస్తారము, మహిమ ఏవిధమో వినండి. ఆ దానముచేత ఆ పురుషుడు ఈ లోకములోనే పితృదేవతలకై పదమూడు సంవత్సరాల మహాశ్రాద్ధాన్ని సిద్ధింపజేసినట్లే అయింది.
