उपवासफलात्मकविधिः — Upavāsa as Yajña-Equivalent Merit

पक्षे पक्षे गते राजन्‌ यो5श्रीयाद्‌ वर्षमेव तु

pakṣe pakṣe gate rājan yo 'śrīyād varṣam eva tu

అంగిరసుడు అన్నాడు—ఓ రాజా! ప్రతి పక్షం (పదిహేను రోజులు) గడిచేకొద్దీ—అలా ఒక సంవత్సరం అంతా—శ్రీ-సంపద తగ్గుతూ పోయేవాడు, కాలక్రమంలో నెమ్మదిగా పతనమవుతున్నాడని గ్రహించాలి.
