शतक्रतुरुवाच येषां वेदा निहिता वै गुहायां मनीषिणां सत्यवतां महात्मनाम् | तेषां त्वयैकेन महात्मनास्मि वृद्धस्तस्मात् प्रीतिमांस्तेडहमद्य
śatakratur uvāca yeṣāṃ vedā nihitā vai guhāyāṃ manīṣiṇāṃ satyavatāṃ mahātmanām | teṣāṃ tvayā ekena mahātmanā asmi vṛddhas tasmāt prītimāṃs te ’ham adya ||
శతక్రతు (ఇంద్రుడు) అన్నాడు—సత్యవంతులైన, మేధావులైన మహాత్ముల హృదయ-గుహలో వేదాలు నిక్షిప్తమై ఉంటాయి; అటువంటి వారిలో మీరు శ్రేష్ఠులు. ఓ మహాత్మా, మీ ఒక్కరి క్షేమచింతన వల్లనే నేను అభివృద్ధి పొందాను; అందుకే ఈ రోజు మీపై నాకు అపారమైన ప్రీతి కలిగింది.
