नहुषोपाख्यानम्—दीपदान-धूप-बलीकर्म-प्रशंसा

Nahūṣa Episode and the Commendation of Lamp-Gifting and Household Offerings

कस्यचित्‌ त्वथ कालस्य भाग्यक्षय उपस्थिते । सर्वमेतदवज्ञाय कृतवानिदमीदृशम्‌,किंतु कुछ कालके पश्चात्‌ जब उनके सौभाग्य-नाशका अवसर उपस्थित हुआ, तब उन्होंने इन सब बातोंकी अवहेलना करके ऐसा पापकर्म आरम्भ कर दिया

kasyacit tv atha kālasya bhāgyakṣaya upasthite | sarvam etad avajñāya kṛtavān idam īdṛśam ||

కానీ కొంతకాలం తరువాత, అతని భాగ్యక్షయం సమీపించిన వేళ, ఈ సమస్త నియమాలను అవమానించి, అటువంటి పాపకర్మలో ప్రవేశించాడు.
