वैशम्पायन उवाच
This verse functions as a colophon: it teaches by structure rather than by a new moral maxim, emphasizing orderly transmission of tradition—episodes like Yayāti’s are presented as illustrative narratives within a larger genealogy-and-origins framework that supports ethical reflection across the epic.
Vaiśampāyana signals that the seventy-seventh chapter—focused on the Yayāti episode—has concluded within the Sambhava Parva of the Ādi Parva, marking the end of that chapter and preparing the listener for the next section.
