Śukra’s Ultimatum and Devayānī’s Demand (शुक्र-प्रतिज्ञा तथा देवयानी-वर-याचना)
त्वया दायादवानस्मि त्वं मे वंशकर: सुतः । पौरवो वंश इति ते ख्यातिं लोके गमिष्यति,“बेटा! तुम्हारे-जैसे पुत्रसे ही मैं पुत्रवान् हूँ। तुम्हीं मेरे वंश-प्रवर्तक पुत्र हो। तुम्हारा वंश इस जगत्में पौरव वंशके नामसे विख्यात होगा'
tvayā dāyādavān asmi tvaṃ me vaṃśakaraḥ sutaḥ | pauravo vaṃśa iti te khyātiṃ loke gamiṣyati |
నీ వల్లనే నేను నిజంగా వారసుడున్నవాడనయ్యాను; నీవే నా వంశాన్ని స్థాపించి ముందుకు నడిపించే కుమారుడవు. లోకంలో నీ వంశం ‘పౌరవ వంశం’ అనే పేరుతో ఖ్యాతి పొందుతుంది.
