शाकुन्तलं महात्मानं दौष्यन्तिं भर पौरव । भर्तव्यो5यं त्वया यस्मादस्माकं वचनादपि

Transliteration

śākuntalaṁ mahātmānaṁ dauṣyantīṁ bhara paurava | bhartavyo ’yaṁ tvayā yasmād asmākaṁ vacanād api ||

Translation

వైశంపాయనుడు అన్నాడు— ఓ పౌరవా, దుష్యంతుని కుమారుడైన ఈ మహాత్మ శాకుంతలుని పోషించుము. మా వచనముచేత కూడ ఇది నీపై విధిగా నియమించబడినదే; కనుక నీవు ఇతనిని నిలబెట్టవలెను.
