Aṃśāvataraṇa-kathana (Catalog of Divine/Asuric Portions in Human Births) — Chapter 61

महर्षेविश्रुतस्येह सर्वलोकेषु धीमत:ः । प्रवक्ष्यामि मतं कृत्स्नं व्यासस्यास्य महात्मन:,वैशम्पायनजीने कहा--राजन! मैं सबसे पहले श्रद्धा-भक्तिपूर्वक एकाग्रचित्तसे अपने गुरुदेव श्रीव्यासजी महाराजको साष्टांग नमस्कार करके सम्पूर्ण द्विजों तथा अन्यान्य विद्वानोंका समादर करते हुए यहाँ सम्पूर्ण लोकोंमें विख्यात महर्षि एवं महात्मा इन परम बुद्धिमान्‌ व्यासजीके मतका पूर्णरूपसे वर्णन करता हूँ

mahṛṣeḥ viśrutasyeha sarvalokeṣu dhīmataḥ | pravakṣyāmi mataṁ kṛtsnaṁ vyāsasyāsya mahātmanaḥ ||

వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—సర్వలోకాలలో విఖ్యాతుడైన ఈ ధీమంతుడు మహాత్ముడు వ్యాసుని అభిప్రాయాన్ని నేను ఇక్కడ సంపూర్ణంగా వివరిస్తాను.
