Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 47 — Janamejaya’s Sarpa-satra: Vow, Preparation, and the Onset of the Serpent Offering
उवाचेदं वच: श्लक्ष्णं ततो मधुरभाषिणी । उत्तिष्ठ त्वं महाभाग सूर्यो5स्तमुपगच्छति,मन-ही-मन ऐसा निश्चय करके मीठे वचन बोलनेवाली नागकन्या जरत्कारुने वहाँ सोते हुए अग्निके समान तेजस्वी एवं तीव्र तपस्वी महर्षिसे मधुरवाणीमें यों कहा--“महाभाग! उठिये, सूर्यदेव अस्ताचलको जा रहे हैं
uvācedaṃ vacaḥ ślakṣṇaṃ tato madhurabhāṣiṇī | uttiṣṭha tvaṃ mahābhāga sūryo 'stam upagacchati ||
అప్పుడు మధురభాషిణి మృదువుగా, సుసంస్కృతమైన మాటలతో ఇలా చెప్పింది— “మహాభాగ! లేవండి; సూర్యుడు అస్తమించుచున్నాడు.”
