त॑ पार्थेनाभये दत्ते नमुचेर्भ्रातरं मयम् । न हन्तुमैच्छद् दाशा्: पावको न ददाह च,अर्जुनके अभयदान देनेपर भगवान् श्रीकृष्णने नमुचिके भ्राता मयासुरको मारनेकी इच्छा त्याग दी और अग्निदेवने भी उसे नहीं जलाया
taṁ pārthenābhaye datte namucer bhrātaraṁ mayam | na hantum aicchad dāśārhaḥ pāvako na dadāha ca ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—పార్థుడు (అర్జునుడు) అతనికి అభయదానం చేసినప్పుడు, దాశార్హుడు (శ్రీకృష్ణుడు) నముచికి సోదరుడైన మయాసురుణ్ని సంహరించాలనే కోరికను విడిచెను; పావకుడు (అగ్ని) కూడ అతనిని దహింపలేదు.
