Garuḍa’s Birth and Vinatā’s Enslavement

śāpam enaṃ tu śuśrāva svayam eva pitāmahaḥ | atikrūraṃ samutsṛṣṭaṃ kadrvā daivād atīva hi ||

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights that harmful outcomes can originate from within one’s own family and that fate may operate through close relationships; therefore, ethical restraint and careful speech—especially in domestic conflicts—are crucial.

Śaunaka reports that Brahmā learned of the severe curse pronounced by Kadrū, and that the serpents, paradoxically, were cursed by their own mother through a turn of destiny.
