देवसत्रे मृत्युनिरोधः, पूर्वेन्द्राणां मानुषावतरणम्, द्रौपदी-वरकथनम्

वैशम्पायन उवाच तत्‌ कर्म भीमस्य समीक्ष्य कृष्ण: कुन्तीसुतो तौ परिशड्कमान: । निवारयामास महीपतींस्तान्‌ धर्मेण लब्धेत्यनुनीय सर्वान्‌,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! भीमसेनका वह अद्भुत कार्य देख भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णने यह सोचते हुए कि ये दोनों भाई कुन्तीकुमार भीमसेन और अर्जुन ही हैं, उन सब राजाओंको यह समझाकर कि इन्होंने धर्मपूर्वक द्रौपदीको प्राप्त किया है” अनुनयपूर्वक युद्धसे रोका

vaiśampāyana uvāca tat karma bhīmasya samīkṣya kṛṣṇaḥ kuntīsuto tau pariśaṅkamānaḥ | nivārayāmāsa mahīpatīṁs tān dharmeṇa labdhety anunīya sarvān |

వైశంపాయనుడు అన్నాడు—భీముని ఆ అద్భుత కార్యాన్ని చూసి, వీరిద్దరూ కుంతీపుత్రులే (భీముడు, అర్జునుడు) అన్న అనుమానంతో కృష్ణుడు, ద్రౌపది ధర్మప్రకారం పొందబడిందని అందరికీ వినయంగా వివరించి, ఆ రాజులను యుద్ధం నుండి నిలిపివేశాడు.
