Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 186 — Drupada’s Summons and the Pāñcāla Reception
कन्दर्पषबाणाभिनिपीडिताड्रा: कृष्णागतैस्ते हृदयैनरिन्द्रा: । रड्भावतीर्णा द्रुपदात्मजार्थ द्वेषं प्रचक्रु: सुहदो5पि तत्र,कामदेवके बाणोंकी चोटसे उनके सभी अंगोंमें निरन्तर पीड़ा हो रही थी। उनका मन द्रौपदीमें ही लगा हुआ था। द्रुपदकुमारीको पानेके लिये रंगभूमिमें उतरे हुए वे सभी नरेश वहाँ अपने सुहृद् राजाओंसे भी ईर्ष्या करने लगे
Vaiśampāyana uvāca |
kandarpaśarābhinipīḍitādrāḥ kṛṣṇāgataiḥ te hṛdayair narendrāḥ |
raṅgāvatīrṇā drupadātmajārthaṃ dveṣaṃ pracakruḥ suhṛdo 'pi tatra ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—కామదేవుని బాణాలచే బాధింపబడిన ఆ రాజులు నిరంతర వేదనలో ఉన్నారు. వారి హృదయమంతా కృష్ణా (ద్రౌపది) వైపే లీనమైంది. ద్రుపదుని కుమార్తెను పొందుటకై రంగస్థలమున ప్రవేశించిన వారు అక్కడ తమ సుహృదులైన మిత్రరాజుల పట్లకూడా అసూయను పెంచుకొనసాగిరి.
