द्रौपदी-स्वयंवर-प्रारम्भः
Commencement of Draupadī’s Svayaṃvara
स समुद्रोर्मिवेगेन स्थले न्यस्तो महामुनि: । न ममार यदा विप्र: कथंचित् संशितव्रत: । जगाम स ततः खिन्नः पुनरेवाश्रमं प्रति,परंतु समुद्रकी लहरोंके वेगने उन महामुनिको किनारे लाकर डाल दिया। कठोर व्रतका पालन करनेवाले ब्रह्मर्षि वसिष्ठ जब किसी प्रकार न मर सके, तब खिन्न होकर अपने आश्रमपर ही लौट पड़े
sa samudrormivegena sthale nyasto mahāmuniḥ | na mamāra yadā vipraḥ kathaṃcit saṃśitavrataḥ | jagāma sa tataḥ khinnaḥ punar evāśramaṃ prati ||
సముద్ర తరంగాల వేగంతో మహాముని తీరానికి కొట్టివేయబడ్డాడు. కఠిన వ్రతనిష్ఠుడైన ఆ బ్రాహ్మణుడు ఏ విధంగానూ మరణించలేకపోయినప్పుడు, ఖిన్నుడై మళ్లీ ఆశ్రమం వైపు వెళ్లాడు.
