द्रौपदी-स्वयंवर-प्रारम्भः

Commencement of Draupadī’s Svayaṃvara

तथेत्युक्त्वा तत: सूद: संस्थानं वध्यघातिनाम्‌ । गत्वा55जहार त्वरितो नरमांसमपेतभी:,तब रसोइया “तथास्तु' कहकर वध्यभूमिमें जल्लादोंके घर गया और (उनसे) निर्भय होकर तुरंत ही मनुष्यका मांस ले आया

tathety uktvā tataḥ sūdaḥ saṃsthānaṃ vadhyaghātinām | gatvā jahāra tvarito naramāṃsam apetabhīḥ ||

“తథాస్తు” అని చెప్పి ఆ వంటవాడు శిక్షితులను సంహరించే వారి నివాసస్థానమైన జల్లాదుల గృహానికి వెళ్లి, భయమును విడిచి త్వరగా మనుష్యమాంసాన్ని తెచ్చాడు।
