बकवधोत्तर-प्रशमनम् | Post-slaying Stabilization after Baka’s Death
हृष्टो मानुषमांसस्थ महाकायो महाबल: । आध्राय मानुषं गन्धं भगिनीमिदमब्रवीत्,मनुष्यका मांस मिलनेकी सम्भावनासे उसे बड़ा हर्ष हुआ। उस महाबली विशालकाय राक्षसने मनुष्यकी गन्ध पाकर अपनी बहिनसे इस प्रकार कहा--
hṛṣṭo mānuṣa-māṁsa-stha mahākāyo mahābalaḥ | āghrāya mānuṣaṁ gandhaṁ bhaginīm idam abravīt ||
మనుష్యమాంసం దొరుకుతుందనే ఆశతో అతడు ఆనందించాడు. మహాబలుడూ మహాకాయుడైన ఆ రాక్షసుడు మనిషి వాసన పసిగట్టి తన చెల్లెలితో ఇలా అన్నాడు—
