धृतराष्ट उवाच दुर्योधन ममाप्येतद्‌ हृदि सम्परिवर्तते । अभिप्रायस्य पापत्वान्नैवं तु विवृणोम्पहम्‌,धृतराष्ट्र बोले--दुर्योधन! मेरे हृदयमें भी यही बात घूम रही है; किंतु हमलोगोंका यह अभिप्राय पापपूर्ण है, इसलिये मैं इसे खोलकर कह नहीं पाता

dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca | duryodhana mamāpy etad hṛdi samparivartate | abhiprāyasya pāpatvān naiva tu vivṛṇomy aham ||

ధృతరాష్ట్రుడు అన్నాడు—దుర్యోధనా! ఇదే ఆలోచన నా హృదయంలోనూ తిరుగుతూనే ఉంది; కానీ మన ఉద్దేశం పాపభరితమైనది గనుక, నేను దీన్ని బహిరంగంగా చెప్పలేను.
