ततः शड्का समभवद्‌ू रक्षिणां त॑ मुनि प्रति । संयम्यैनं ततो राज्ञे दस्यूंश्वैव न्‍्यवेदयन्‌,फिर तो रक्षकोंको मुनिके प्रति मनमें संदेह उत्पन्न हो गया और वे उन्हें बाँधकर राजाके पास ले गये। वहाँ पहुँचकर उन्होंने राजासे सब बातें बतायीं और उन चोरोंको भी राजाके हवाले कर दिया

tataḥ śaṅkā samabhavad rakṣiṇāṃ taṃ muniṃ prati | saṃyamya enaṃ tato rājñe dasyūṃś caiva nyavedayan ||

అప్పుడు రక్షకులకు ఆ మునిపై అనుమానం కలిగింది. వారు ఆయనను బంధించి రాజు వద్దకు తీసుకెళ్లి జరిగినదంతా నివేదించి, దొంగలనూ అప్పగించారు.
