वैशम्पायन उवाच ततः सत्यवती भीष्मं वाचा संसज्जमानया । विहसन्तीव सत्रीडमिदं वचनमब्रवीत्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! तब सत्यवती कुछ हँसती और साथ ही लजाती हुई भीष्मजीसे इस प्रकार बोली। बोलते समय उसकी वाणी संकोचसे कुछ अस्पष्ट-सी हो जाती थी
vaiśampāyana uvāca tataḥ satyavatī bhīṣmaṃ vācā saṃsajjamānayā | vihasantīva sa-trīḍam idaṃ vacanam abravīt |
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—జనమేజయా! అప్పుడు సత్యవతి సంకోచంతో తడబడే స్వరంతో, స్త్రీలజ్జతో కూడి, స్వల్పహాస్యముతోనె భీష్మునితో ఈ మాటలు పలికెను।
