उमामहेश्वरव्रतं—पञ्चाक्षरमन्त्रस्य माहात्म्यं, न्यासः, जपविधिः, सदाचारः, विनियोगः

मन्त्रमुच्चारयेद्वाचा जपयज्ञः स वाचिकः शनैरुच्चारयेन्मन्त्रम् ईषद् ओष्ठौ तु चालयेत्

mantramuccārayedvācā japayajñaḥ sa vācikaḥ śanairuccārayenmantram īṣad oṣṭhau tu cālayet

వాక్కుతో మంత్రాన్ని ఉచ్చరించి జపిస్తే అది ‘వాచిక’ జపయజ్ఞమని చెప్పబడుతుంది. మంత్రాన్ని మృదువుగా, నెమ్మదిగా ఉచ్చరించి, పెదవులను స్వల్పంగా మాత్రమే కదిలించాలి.
