आश्विने चैव विप्रेन्द्राः गोमेदकमयं शुभम् प्रवालेनैव कार्तिक्यां तथा वै मार्गशीर्षके

Transliteration

āśvine caiva viprendrāḥ gomedakamayaṃ śubham pravālenaiva kārtikyāṃ tathā vai mārgaśīrṣake

Translation

ఓ విప్రేంద్రులారా, ఆశ్విన మాసంలో గోమేద (హెస్సోనైట్)మయ శుభదానాన్ని సమర్పించాలి. కార్తికంలో ప్రవాళం (పగడము) అలాగే, మార్గశీర్షంలో కూడా మాసవిధి ప్రకారం—దీంతో పశు (బద్ధ జీవుడు) శివపూజకు సహాయకమైన పుణ్యాన్ని పొందుతాడు, పతి (శివ) అనుగ్రహంతో పాశాలు సడలుతాయి.
