Vastraputa-jala, Ahimsa, and Conduct in Shiva Worship

అదే పుణ్యఫలం అహింసకుడైన మనిషికి కోటి రెట్లు లభిస్తుంది—మనసా, కర్మణా, వాచా సర్వభూతహితంలో రతుడై ఉన్నవానికి.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Purana’s teaching on dharma to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It teaches that Linga-puja becomes spiritually potent when grounded in ahimsa and universal welfare; the devotee’s merit is said to increase crore-fold through purity in thought, word, and deed.
By implying that the highest dharma is non-harm and compassion, it aligns Shiva-tattva with Pati—the supreme Lord who uplifts all pashus (souls) through grace when their inner and outer conduct becomes sattvic and benevolent.
A tri-karana-shuddhi discipline (purity of mind, speech, and action) central to Shaiva sadhana; it supports Pashupata Yoga by weakening pasha (bondage) created by हिंसा and harsh speech.
