क्षुपस्य विष्णुदर्शनं, वैष्णवस्तोत्रं, दधीचविवादः, स्थानेश्वरतीर्थमाहात्म्यं
श्रीभगवानुवाच भोभो दधीच ब्रह्मर्षे भवार्चनरताव्यय वरमेकं वृणे त्वत्तस् तं भवान्दातुमर्हति
śrībhagavānuvāca bhobho dadhīca brahmarṣe bhavārcanaratāvyaya varamekaṃ vṛṇe tvattas taṃ bhavāndātumarhati
శ్రీభగవానుడు పలికాడు—ఓ దధీచ బ్రహ్మర్షీ! ఓ అవ్యయా, భవుడు (శివుడు) ఆరాధనలో నిత్యరతుడవైన నీవు—నేను నీ నుండి ఒక వరం కోరుతున్నాను; దయచేసి దానిని ప్రసాదించు।
Śrī Bhagavān (the Lord, in-context a divine speaker addressing the sage Dadhīca)
It establishes bhavārcana (worship of Bhava/Śiva) as the defining virtue of the devotee-sage, making him a fit vessel through whom divine purposes in Linga-centered dharma are fulfilled.
By invoking Bhava and calling the devotee “avyaya,” the verse points to Śiva as Pati—the Lord whose grace makes devotion steady and enduring, and whose will operates through purified beings.
