Shloka 44

अध्याय १०१: हैमवती-तपः, तारकवंश-उत्पातः, स्कन्द-प्रत्याशा, मदनदहनम्

यदा विष्णुश् च भविता वासुदेवो महायशाः शापाद्भृगोर्महातेजाः सर्वलोकहिताय वै

yadā viṣṇuś ca bhavitā vāsudevo mahāyaśāḥ śāpādbhṛgormahātejāḥ sarvalokahitāya vai

మహాతేజస్వి భృగువు మహాశాపం వల్ల మహాయశస్సుగల విష్ణువు వాసుదేవరూపంగా అవతరిస్తే, అది నిశ్చయంగా సమస్త లోకాల హితార్థమే. (విద్వాంసులు తెలుసుకొనుచున్నారు—ఈ అవతరణమూ పతి శివాధీనమే; ఆయన శాపాన్నికూడా లోకహితసాధనంగా, దేహుల పాశబంధ విమోచనార్థంగా మార్చుతాడు.)
