Sūta (narrating to the sages), within a Kurma Purana tirtha-mahatmya passage
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Indirectly: it frames purification through tīrtha-snāna as a dharmic aid that refines the seeker’s mind and karma, supporting the inward pursuit of Self-knowledge emphasized elsewhere in the Purāṇa.
The practice is tīrtha-snāna performed with proper observance (samācāra): disciplined ritual purity, vow-like conduct, and devotional intent—outer supports that, in the Kurma Purana’s yoga-ethic, prepare one for higher sādhana.
Though the text is Vaiṣṇava in frame, it explicitly upholds Śaiva fruition—attaining Rudraloka—showing the Kurma Purana’s integrative stance where devotion and dharma can culminate in Śiva’s realm without sectarian contradiction.
