इति श्रीकूर्मपुराणे षट्साहस्त्र्यां संहितायामुपरिविभागे चतुर्दशो ऽध्यायः व्यास उवाच वेदं वेदौ तथा वेदान् वेदान् वा चतुरो द्विजाः / अधीत्य चाधिगम्यार्थं ततः स्नायाद् द्विजोत्तमः

ఇట్లు శ్రీకూర్మపురాణం షట్సాహస్త్రీ సంహిత ఉపరివిభాగంలో చతుర్దశ అధ్యాయం ముగిసింది. వ్యాసుడు పలికెను—ద్విజోత్తముడు ఒక వేదం గాని, రెండు గాని, లేదా వేదములు—నాలుగింటినీ—అధ్యయనం చేసి వాటి తాత్పర్యాన్ని గ్రహించిన తరువాత సమావర్తన స్నానం చేయవలెను।
