Kali-yuga Doṣas, the Supremacy of Rudra as Refuge, and the Closure of the Manvantara Teaching
ये चान्ये शापनिर्दग्धा गौतमस्य महात्मनः / सर्वे ते च भविष्यन्ति ब्राह्मणाद्याः स्वजातिषु
ye cānye śāpanirdagdhā gautamasya mahātmanaḥ / sarve te ca bhaviṣyanti brāhmaṇādyāḥ svajātiṣu
మహాత్ముడు గౌతముని శాపముచే దగ్ధులైన ఇతరులందరూ కూడా బ్రాహ్మణాదిగా తమ తమ జాతులలోనే పునర్జన్మ పొందుదురు।
Sūta (narrating the Purāṇic account to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: karuna
This verse does not directly teach Ātman-doctrine; it focuses on karmic consequence and restoration of embodied status (birth in one’s proper varna-jāti) after the effects of a sage’s curse subside.
No explicit yoga practice is prescribed in this line; the emphasis is on dharma and karmic order. In the broader Kurma Purana, such restoration is typically aligned with dharmic conduct, purification, and adherence to prescribed duties.
This particular verse is narrative and does not mention Śiva or Viṣṇu; its takeaway is the Purāṇic principle that cosmic-moral order (dharma) ultimately reasserts itself, a theme compatible with the text’s broader Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis.
