कृतद्युतिरजानन्ती सपत्नीनामघं महत् । सुप्त एवेति सञ्चिन्त्य निरीक्ष्य व्यचरद्गृहे ॥ ४४ ॥
kṛtadyutir ajānantī sapatnīnām aghaṁ mahat supta eveti sañcintya nirīkṣya vyacarad gṛhe
సపత్నుల మహాపాపాన్ని తెలియని కృతద్యుతి, ‘కుమారుడు గాఢనిద్రలో ఉన్నాడు’ అని భావించి, అతన్ని చూసి ఇంట్లో తిరుగుతూ ఉండెను; అతడు మరణించినట్టు ఆమెకు తెలియలేదు।
