यदि वीरो महाराज तेनैव त्वां यजे इति । तथेति वरुणेनास्य पुत्रो जातस्तु रोहित: ॥ ९ ॥
yadi vīro mahārāja tenaiva tvāṁ yaje iti tatheti varuṇenāsya putro jātas tu rohitaḥ
ఓ మహారాజా! హరిశ్చంద్రుడు వరుణుని ఇలా ప్రార్థించాడు—“నాకు ఒక వీర కుమారుడు జన్మిస్తే, ఆ కుమారునితోనే మీ సంతృప్తికై యజ్ఞం చేస్తాను.” వరుణుడు “అలాగే” అని అనుగ్రహించాడు. వరుణ వరదానంతో హరిశ్చంద్రునికి రోహితుడు అనే కుమారుడు జన్మించాడు.
