FAQs

This verse portrays the pain of being left behind, highlighting how attachment to relationships and household security can become a source of suffering, thereby urging inner detachment and reliance on spiritual realization.

In the Avadhūta’s instruction (as relayed within Kṛṣṇa’s teachings to Uddhava), such examples illustrate the instability of worldly ties and encourage Uddhava to cultivate steady renunciation and devotion beyond material dependence.

Perform duties with care but reduce possessiveness—cultivate sādhu-saṅga, strengthen devotion, and accept that relationships and circumstances can change, keeping your inner shelter in Bhagavān rather than in worldly arrangements.
