गृहार्थी सदृशीं भार्यामुद्वहेदजुगुप्सिताम् । यवीयसीं तु वयसा यां सवर्णामनुक्रमात् ॥ ३९ ॥
gṛhārthī sadṛśīṁ bhāryām udvahed ajugupsitām yavīyasīṁ tu vayasā yāṁ sa-varṇām anu kramāt
గృహస్థ జీవితం స్థాపించదలచినవాడు తన వర్ణానికి చెందిన, నిందార్హత లేని, వయసులో చిన్నదైన భార్యను వివాహం చేసుకోవాలి. అనేక భార్యలను స్వీకరించదలచితే మొదటి వివాహం తర్వాత క్రమంగా చేసుకోవాలి; ప్రతి భార్య క్రమంగా తక్కువ వర్ణానికి చెందినదై ఉండాలి.
