The Solar Eclipse at Samanta-pañcaka and the Great Reunion of Yādavas, Pāṇḍavas, and Vraja
mayi bhaktir hi bhūtānām amṛtatvāya kalpate diṣṭyā yad āsīn mat-sneho bhavatīnāṁ mad-āpanaḥ
According to Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī, the gopīs then replied, “But that Supreme Lord You are blaming is none other than Yourself, O most clever of speakers. Everyone in the world knows this! Why should we be ignorant of this fact?” “All right,” Lord Kṛṣṇa then told them, “if this is true, I must be God, but still I am conquered by your loving affection.”
This verse states that devotion to Krishna (mayi bhaktiḥ) is what makes immortality possible for living beings—liberation is attained through loving devotion to Him.
When Krishna met the Vraja gopis at Kurukshetra, He affirmed that their deep love for Him is supremely fortunate and is itself the means of attaining Him.
Cultivate steady devotion—remembering Krishna, praying, chanting His names, and serving with love—because sincere attachment to Him is presented here as the direct path to transcend fear of death.
