tatraikasthaṃ jagat kṛtsnaṃ pravibhaktam anekadhā | apaśyad deva-devasya śarīre pāṇḍavas tadā || 11.13 ||

There, then, the Pāṇḍava saw the entire universe, abiding in one place yet differentiated in many ways, in the body of the god of gods.

This verse echoes 11.7 but now reports Arjuna’s actual seeing. The juxtaposition “एकस्थं…प्रविभक्तम्” is philosophically suggestive: unity is not the negation of plurality but its ground.

FAQs

It depicts an integrative insight where diverse experiences are held together without erasing distinctions—often associated with clarity and reduced inner conflict.

The verse articulates a model where the many are real as differentiations, yet their coherence depends on a single encompassing ground (the divine body).

This is the narrative confirmation that the promised vision (11.7–8) has occurred: Arjuna actually beholds the cosmos within Krishna.

It can inform systems-thinking: complex networks can be studied as differentiated parts while still understood as a single interdependent whole.
