FAQs

It prescribes a homa rule: take the first/foremost portion of prepared food and offer it as an oblation into the fire, dedicating it specifically to Vāsudeva with epithets affirming divine lordship and imperishability.

It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s ritual-handbook dimension by giving concrete, actionable yajña/homa procedure—one among many practical domains (puja, temple rites, vows, governance, medicine, arts) compiled in a single Purana.

Offering the first portion sanctifies the act of eating and aligns it with devotion and yajña, framing nourishment as consecrated to the Supreme (Vāsudeva), which is traditionally held to purify intention and accrue religious merit.
