Lord Agni (instructing the sage Vasiṣṭha in the Agni Purāṇa’s Dhanurveda material)
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: karuna
Sandhi Resolution Notes: भग्नसन्धारणं → भग्न-सन्धारणम्; नाशस्थानं → नाश-स्थानम्.
A Dhanurveda tactical principle: warriors must stabilize and rally disordered units (bhagna-sandhāraṇa), and the collapse of the chief/central unit (pradhāna-bhaṅga) marks the decisive vulnerability where the army’s destruction becomes imminent.
It shows the Agni Purana’s coverage of practical statecraft and war-science alongside religious topics—codifying battlefield leadership doctrine, morale management, and structural weak points in an army.
By framing disciplined conduct and duty in battle as a prescribed rule (vidhīyate), the text implies that orderly, responsible action—even in warfare—aligns with dharma, reducing chaos-driven harm and supporting righteous protection of society.
