Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Vāgīśī-sādhana: aṅga-nyāsa, 10,000 japa, and tila-homa in two kramas","lookup_keywords":["Vāgīśī","niyuta-japa","tila-homa","krama","aṅga-nyāsa"],"quick_summary":"After nyāsa, complete a niyuta (10,000) recitations; then worship Vāgīśī according to the two prescribed sequences and perform sesame oblations to consolidate mantra-siddhi."}

Concept: Siddhi arises from correct sequence: nyāsa (embodiment) → saṅkhyā-japa (discipline) → devatā-upāsanā (alignment) → homa (sealing/confirmation).

Application: Design a practice regimen with fixed counts and a concluding homa to stabilize results (learning, eloquence, ritual success).

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi / Mantra-sadhana (Vagishvari/Vagishi-japa and homa procedure)

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Sandhi Resolution Notes: निरङ्गस्यात्मना → निरङ्गस्य आत्मना; चाङ्गम् → च अङ्गम्; न्यस्येमान् → न्यस्य इमान्; यथोक्तांस्तु → यथा-उक्तान् तु

FAQs

It teaches a mantra-sādhana workflow: perform aṅga-nyāsa, complete a fixed-count japa (niyuta = 10,000), then do worship in the prescribed two kramas and conclude with a tila-homa (sesame oblations).

It preserves applied ritual technology—counts, sequencing (krama), nyāsa technique, and homa materials—showing the Agni Purāṇa’s coverage beyond narrative into precise procedural liturgy and mantra practice.

The combination of nyāsa, high-count japa, and sesame homa is framed as a purificatory and efficacy-building regimen, meant to stabilize mantra-power and invoke Vāgīśī’s grace for refined speech, learning, and auspicious outcomes.
