Ayurvedic chikitsā: a practical regimen for raktapitta—using vāsā-juice with sugar and honey, or a separately prepared medicated milk cooked with varī, drākṣā, balā, and śuṇṭhī.
It shows the text functioning beyond mythology by preserving applied medical therapeutics (materia medica and formulations), integrating classical Ayurvedic-style remedies into a Purāṇic compendium.
By prescribing non-violent, sattvic therapeutic substances (milk, honey, herbs) to preserve life and restore balance, it supports dharma through health-maintenance, enabling continued performance of duties and religious observances.
