यूनश्च परदारादि दारिद्र्यं च कुटुम्बिनः । पुत्रदुःखस्य नास्त्यन्तो धनी चेन्म्रियते तदा ॥२६॥

IAST Transliteration

yūnaś ca paradārādi dāridryaṃ ca kuṭumbinaḥ | putraduḥkhasya nāsty anto dhanī cen mriyate tadā ||26||

Translation

இளையவனுக்கு பிறர்மனைவி முதலியவற்றின் மீது மோகம் உண்டாகும்; குடும்பஸ்தனுக்கு வறுமையும் நேரும். பிள்ளைகளால் உண்டாகும் துயரத்திற்கு முடிவில்லை; செல்வன் ஆனாலும் இறுதியில் மரணம் அடைகிறான்॥২৬॥

Academic Translation

For the young man there is (the temptation of) another’s wife and the like; for the householder there is poverty as well. There is no end to the sorrow caused by children; and if one is wealthy, then he dies (even so).
