दुस्तरे दुरितांभोधौ मज्जतां विषयात्मनाम् । शिवपूजां विना कश्चित्प्लवो नास्ति निरूपितः
dustare duritāṃbhodhau majjatāṃ viṣayātmanām | śivapūjāṃ vinā kaścitplavo nāsti nirūpitaḥ
கடக்க அரிய பாவக் கடலில், புலன்விஷயங்களில் மூழ்கியோர் மூழ்குகின்றனர்; சிவபூஜையைத் தவிர வேறு எந்தத் துடுப்பும் (மீட்புப் படகும்) கூறப்படவில்லை.
