Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It portrays karma as a binding weight (pāśa) that compels the soul to face its own deeds; the resulting silence and stillness hint at the first turn toward dispassion and Shiva-oriented liberation (moksha).
By emphasizing the pressure of karma, the verse supports the Shaiva approach of seeking refuge in Shiva through Saguna worship—especially Linga-upāsanā—which purifies karma and redirects the mind from action-bound identity toward the Lord (Pati).
A practical takeaway is silent self-inquiry and steady contemplation, supported by japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple Shaiva disciplines like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa to stabilize the mind.
