FAQs

It teaches that reverence to sacred authorities—Devas, Agni, the Guru, Brahmins, and especially one’s parents—purifies conduct and aligns one’s life with dharma, making one fit to receive auspicious results (and ultimately Shiva’s grace).

Linga-worship in the Shiva Purana is not isolated from ethics: honoring Guru, elders, and sacred fire supports inner purity (śuddhi) and humility, which are required for fruitful Saguna Shiva worship and for the devotion that ripens toward realization.

Practice daily reverence: offer respectful salutations and service to parents and Guru, honor Brahmins/learned devotees, and maintain sacred discipline around worship (including lamp/fire offerings). This dharmic foundation strengthens mantra-japa and puja.
