यममार्गे सुखदायकधर्माः
Dharmas that Grant Ease on the Path to Yama

Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
It highlights the karmic fruition of dharma and merit: luminous heavenly abodes arise for the great-souled, yet these are still within the realm of enjoyments—distinct from Shiva-granted liberation (moksha) that transcends all worlds.
It implicitly contrasts worldly and heavenly attainments with the higher fruit of Saguna Shiva worship through the Linga—devotion oriented to Shiva leads beyond temporary celestial rewards toward lasting union with Pati (Shiva), not merely refined pleasures.
Use the verse as a reflection during japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya): renounce fixation on “many desires” and dedicate merit to Shiva; accompany with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha as reminders to seek moksha over svarga.
