FAQs

It emphasizes that Śaiva worship must be protected from impurity and disturbance—external (animals, people) and subtle (preta/bhūta influences). In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, careful conduct reduces pasha-like obstructions and supports a sattvic mind fit for Shiva-bhakti and mantra.

Linga worship is performed with strict maryādā (ritual discipline). This verse instructs proper disposal/placement of items so the sanctity of the offering and the worship-space is not compromised, preserving reverence toward Saguna Shiva in the shrine.

Maintain cleanliness and careful handling of remnants/offerings; dispose of them appropriately so they are not touched or defiled. As a practical takeaway for sadhana, pair external purity with steady japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to keep the mind undisturbed.
