It teaches that Shiva (Pati) is realized inwardly: when the mind becomes calm and prāṇa is steady, purified intelligence can directly “see” Shiva in the heart-lotus, leading toward liberation.
Outer worship of the Shiva-Linga supports inner worship: the same Shiva adored in saguna form is to be contemplated within as the indwelling Lord, making pūjā culminate in dhyāna and direct inner recognition.
A dhyāna practice with breath-settling (prāṇa-niyama) and one-pointed contemplation on Shiva in the heart-lotus—often supported by japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), along with Shaiva disciplines like bhasma and rudrākṣa when appropriate.
