भैरवावतारवर्णनम् (Bhairavāvatāra-varṇanam) — “Description of the Descent/Manifestation of Bhairava”
अथ भैरवावतारमाह । नन्दीश्वर उवाच । सनत्कुमार सर्व्वज्ञ शृणु त्वं भैरवीं कथाम् । यस्याः श्रवणमात्रेण शैवी भक्तिर्दृढा भवेत्
atha bhairavāvatāramāha | nandīśvara uvāca | sanatkumāra sarvvajña śṛṇu tvaṃ bhairavīṃ kathām | yasyāḥ śravaṇamātreṇa śaivī bhaktirdṛḍhā bhavet
இப்போது பைரவ அவதாரத்தைச் சொல்கிறேன். நந்தீஸ்வரர் கூறினார்—அனைத்தையும் அறிந்த சனத்குமாரரே, பைரவனின் இப்புனிதக் கதையை கேளுங்கள்; இதை மட்டும் கேட்டாலே சிவபக்தி உறுதியாகும்.
