शिव उवाच । कुत्र त्वं यासि मां हित्वा न त्वन्त्याज्या मया शिवे । मया परीक्षितासि त्वं दृढभक्तासि मेऽनघे

சிவன் கூறினான்—சிவையே, என்னை விட்டுத் तू எங்கே செல்கிறாய்? நீ எனால் கைவிடப்பட வேண்டியவள் அல்ல. பாவமற்றவளே, நான் உன்னைச் சோதித்தேன்; நீ என்மேல் உறுதியான பக்தியுடையவள்।
