Himālaya’s Resolution to Give Pārvatī to Śiva
मदीयं च शरीरम्वै पत्नी मेना सुतास्सुता । ऋद्धिस्सिद्धिश्च चान्यद्वै शिवस्यैव न चान्यथा
madīyaṃ ca śarīramvai patnī menā sutāssutā | ṛddhissiddhiśca cānyadvai śivasyaiva na cānyathā
Himālaya (Himavān), speaking in devotion and surrender to Lord Śiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Umā
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It expresses śaraṇāgati (complete surrender): the devotee recognizes body, family, prosperity, and even spiritual attainments as belonging to Pati—Lord Śiva—thus dissolving ego and ownership, which supports liberation in the Shaiva Siddhanta spirit.
Linga worship trains the mind to see Śiva as the indwelling Lord and the sole refuge; this verse verbalizes that vision—offering one’s identity and possessions to Saguna Śiva, which leads the devotee toward the higher realization of Śiva’s all-pervading supremacy.
Practice daily self-offering in Śiva-pūjā: repeat the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and mentally dedicate body, actions, and results to Śiva; this inner “na mama” (not mine) attitude is the core takeaway.
