गिरिजाया तपोऽनुज्ञा

Permission for Girijā’s Austerities

आहारे त्यक्तपर्णाभूद्यस्माद्धिमवतः सुतः । तेन देवैरपर्णेति कथिता नामतः शिवा

இமவானின் மகள் தவத்தில் உணவாக இலைகளையும் துறந்தாள்; ஆகவே தேவர்கள் சிவா (பார்வதி)யை ‘அபர்ணா’ என்ற பெயரால் அழைத்தனர்.
