Sukta 2.42
मा त्वा श्येन उद्वधीन्मा सुपर्णो मा त्वा विददिषुमान्वीरो अस्ता । पित्र्यामनु प्रदिशं कनिक्रदत्सुमङ्गलो भद्रवादी वदेह ॥
mā́ tvā śyéná úd vadhīn mā́ su-parṇó mā́ tvā vidád íṣu-mān vīró ástā | pitryā́m ánu pra-díśaṁ kaníkradat su-maṅgálo bhadrá-vādī vada iha ||
ஶ்யேனன் உன்னை வீழ்த்தாதிருக்கட்டும்; சுபர்ணன் உன்னைப் பற்றாதிருக்கட்டும்; அம்புடைய வீரன் உன்னை இலக்காகக் கண்டடையாதிருக்கட்டும். பித்ரிய வழியின் திசையைப் பின்பற்றி கூவிச் செல்; சுமங்கலமாக இரு, இங்கே நல்வாக்கை உரை.
